Both anecdotal insights and some limited data about the citation side of the Long-term Care Survey Process (LTCSP) have begun to trickle in since its Nov. 28, 2017, implementation. While providers in some states describe the LTCSP as “just a very nice survey,” facilities in at least one state aren’t so lucky.
Survey under the LTCSP has gotten “exponentially worse” in Washington state, says Robin Dale, president/CEO of the Washington Health Care Association in Tumwater. While Dale hasn’t yet seen any hard data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) or the state survey agency, his own review of provider 2567s shows some troubling results.
