The drive for strong antibiotic stewardship spurred 133-bed Holly Heights Care Center in Denver, Colo., to develop a urinary tract infection (UTI) prevention program in 2015, says Janet Snipes, NHA, administrator. “Since the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are really pushing antibiotic stewardship, we wanted to see if we could impact antibiotic use, and we certainly did impact it.”
