About the Gerontology Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded by the Long-term Care Nursing Education Foundation and is designed to enhance and contribute to the number of quality and field-specific trained nurses working in long-term care. This scholarship supports the education of a geriatric nurse looking to improve his/her skills and has demonstrated exceptional commitment and dedication to improving the quality of life with excellent care for the residents that reside in his/her home. The winner will be notified in March 2018, and the scholarship will be presented to the recipient in-person at the 2018 AADNS Annual Conference in National Harbor, MD, June 27-29, 2018.
- The recipient must be currently enrolled in or accepted to a Gerontology Certification program
- The recipient must have at least 12 months of experience working in a long-term care facility
- The recipient must meet the eligibility criteria to achieve a Gerontology Certification
The recipient of this scholarship will receive $1,000 toward a Gerontology Certification, complimentary registration to the 2018 AADNS Annual Conference in National Harbor, MD (a $550 value), two nights of hotel accommodations at the host hotel, and a travel stipend.
